On 1 August 2009, AGCS Asia Pacific opened its third unit in Hong Kong and is the first direct underwriting team for AGCS Asia under the regulatory framework of Allianz Hong Kong. The office in Hong Kong plays a key part in establishing an AGCS presence in Asia, and will be a stepping stone to the future potential of this market in the longer run. On 1 August 2010, AGCS also took over management control of Allianz Hong Kong.
